Three moms with Technology and Education background have come together to create an iPad
application that provides a comprehensive, fun and educational experience to kids ages 2-8,
who are learning about Chanukah, the Festival of Lights.
(OPENPRESS) Last week Appy Holidays launched a new, content rich and comprehensive iPad application that offers teaching our youngsters all about Chanukah, called Appy Chanukah. The iPad app's goal is to provide kids ages 2-8 with a comprehensive, fun, educational experience of Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, with great focus on Hebrew language and songs. http://www.theappyholidays.com/#!home/mainPage
The application allows kids to:
* Learn about the Chanukah story and tradition using an interactive eBook
* Understand, pronounce, read and write key words in Hebrew that relate to Chanukah such as Menorah, Sevivon, etc.
* Learn Chanukah songs such as Mi Yemalel and Maoz Tzur, record themselves with background music, and send the video to family and friends.
* Play interactive games such as light a menorah, 3-level Chanukah Puzzle.
* Send a personalized greeting card to family and friends on email or Facebook

In addition to the iPad application we also offer a lively community site with one purpose in mind - provide parents with as much inspiration and ideas on how to celebrate and learn about Chanukah together as a family — we update the site daily with blog posts about kids art projects, recipes, stories, etc. and have some great guest bloggers participating each a subject matter expert in Jewish Education and Tradition. We offer a comprehensive experience with the goal in mind to make sure our kids stay connected to their tradition.

About Happy Holidays
A mom, a community and social media vetern and a technologist - I try to provide my kids with as much Home-made Jewish Education as possible. As a mother of two toddlers, it was important for me to bring them up with an understanding and attachment to the Jewish tradition. I found it challenging to find one place that provided all tools to help me provide my kids with that holistic experience. Specifically, I didn't find anything interactive and engaging, that could be experienced as a family together, and so I decided to develop my own that could be shared by other moms.
We are now a group of 3 moms from Hoboken and Tenefly with background in technology and education who have gathered to provide Jewish parents with an interactive tool to help them teach their youngsters about Jewish Holidays and Tradition.
