R&R's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Serving Up John Deere-Made Ice Cream To 2009 N.C. State Fair Attendees

R&R's Old Fashioned Ice Cream, a Sanford, N.C. company that makes homemade ice cream using vintage John Deere engines, has announced that it has returned to serve "the world's most unique way of making old-fashioned homemade ice cream" to fairgoers at the 2009 N.C. State Fair.

Raleigh, NC (OPENPRESS) October 20, 2009 -- R&R's Old Fashioned Ice Cream, a Sanford, N.C. company that makes homemade ice cream using vintage John Deere engines, has announced that it has returned to serve "the world's most unique way of making old-fashioned homemade ice cream" to fairgoers at the 2009 N.C. State Fair. The company, owned by brothers Robert Fulton and Ronnie Turner, has operated at the N.C. State Fair since 1994 and uses 1937 John Deere hit-and-miss engines to churn homemade ice cream for fair attendees. R&R's Old Fashioned Ice Cream will be available throughout the run of the N.C. State Fair, which will be held at the N.C. State Fairgrounds through Sunday, Oct. 25.

"I have been coming to the N.C. State Fair since I was 4 years old, and I have only missed one fair since then," said Robert Fulton. "I always enjoy being able to give back to the fair."

DETAILS:
- The ice cream booth is located in Heritage Circle, adjacent to the pond..

- The booth's three 1937 John Deere engines can produce up to 30 gallons of ice cream every 18 minutes.

- The booth offers three flavors daily, and available flavors include vanilla, strawberry, cookies and cream, banana split, chocolate, butter pecan, cherry vanilla, orange pineapple, pineapple, peanut butter, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, and Butterfinger.

- Adult tickets for the State Fair are $5 in advance and $7 at the gate. Children's tickets are $1 in advance or $2 at the gate. Children 5 and under and seniors age 65 and older get in free.
