New Rocky Remix Gains Popularity with Clubs and Bars

The famous "Gonna Fly Now" theme song from the Rocky Balboa movies has been remixed as the "Rocky Remix" and is playing around the country, including at bars and clubs near the 2009 Major League Baseball Playoffs in Philadelphia
(OPENPRESS) October 19, 2009 -- The history of a certain Italian boxer from South Philly is one that lives on in the mind of every Philadelphian, it's the stuff of legend. While the long-echoing themes of triumph ring through the city like it's eternal symbol, the Liberty Bell, a new sound has emerged. Dj and producer, Christian Behl, has brought a timeless classic to the dance floors.
The Rocky Remix (Broad Street Anthem), was finally released at the end of summer, just in time for the start of Philadelphia Eagles football season, and the start of postseason baseball playoffs for the defending World Champion Philadelphia Phillies. "I started working on it last year after the Phillies won the World Series. After some of my own challenges and setbacks, I just hope it does what I aim for it to do", said D.J. Christian Behl.
Christian says his goal is not to replace the tradition of the original Rocky song, "Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky)" by composer Bill Conti. He states, "nothing ever will. That song is like a chapter of the Bible to our city. My goal is simply to bring some more excitement to Philadelphia", Behl continued. "Philly's a city that has had to endure a lot, so I think it's important to celebrate whenever we get a chance. We work hard and party hard."
With the phenomena of the Rocky movies being a worldwide experience, Christian also mentioned his aspirations for bigger charity involvement and hopes the remix will bring inspiration to others. "My Dj business has contributed whenever we could to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I played at an event called the 3 Day, where people walk for three days straight to raise money for cancer research. When I saw these ladies so tired and aching from blisters, dancing, after two straight days of walking, I think that's the spirit of triumph. That's what Rocky is all about."
