(OPENPRESS) December 26, 2010 -- The western wall is also known by Arabs as Halt-Al-Buraq, is located in the Old City of Jerusalem at the foot of the western side of the Temple mount. It is a footprint of the ancient wall that surrounded the Jewish Temple's courtyard and is one of the most sacred sites in Judaism outside of the temple mount itself. This place is the most holy place accessible to the Jewish people because the Muslim control of the temple mounts. In the recent centuries as the "Wailing Wall" this was built by Herod the great as he maintains the wall of the temple mount complex. In 1967, when Israel captured the Old city, the plaza was created as an area for prayer when Israel captured the Old City in 1967. It is so huge that at times tens of thousands of people gather there for prayer. It has been a site for Jewish prayer and pilgrimage for centuries, the earliest source mentioning Jewish attachment to the site dating.

After him, whatever the destruction of Constantine's church was built by son of Constantine; Constantius and the emperor Theodosius the great.
