Denver, CO (OPENPRESS) October 20, 2009 -- Amélie Company, a Denver-based advertising, public relations and marketing firm, announces the company has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), for Professional Communications Services on behalf of Solar Decathlon 2009.
The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2009 challenges 20 college and university teams to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered house. This biennial competition takes place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Open to the general public, the Solar Decathlon provides a great backdrop for showcasing a powerful combination of solar energy technologies, cutting-edge innovations, and the best in home design.
NREL conducted a competitive review process in selecting an agency to provide communications support for 11 different aspects of Solar Decathlon 2009. Amélie Company responsibilities range from the development and design of communications materials and event signage to the documentation of Solar Decathlon activities during the event itself in Washington, D.C.
The objectives of the Solar Decathlon are to educate the student participants and raise awareness among the general public about the benefits of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building technologies; to help solar energy technologies enter the marketplace faster; and to foster collaboration among students from different academic disciplines.
