License Plate Genie Launches P2P Car Information System

License Plate Genie announced today that it has launched the United States' first and most comprehensive system for person-to-person information exchange about cars and their drivers.
San Francisco, CA (OPENPRESS) October 14, 2008 -- License Plate Genie made public today its new website for providing those interested in automobiles with a way to find and discuss them based on their license plate numbers.
"The site is targeted at several different groups of people, all of whom we believe are underserved by the existing offerings out there," said Steve Bordelon, License Plate Genie's Supervising Editor.
"The site targets everybody from car purchasers to those interested in finding a long lost car," he said. "Another group we'd like to target are people who want to share complaints about bad or erratic drivers."
License Plate Genie takes advantage of the fact that all cars in the United States must have a valid license plate in order to be on the road. So, that plate number provides a natural unique identifier for initiating a search.
One License Plate Genie user has already found an excellent use for the site.
"I used License Plate Genie to look up the car I used to drive as a teenager," said site user Eric Conovo. "I was amazed when someone responded to my posting. All I did was go to http://licenseplategenie.com and fill out a quick form."
Bordelon said he encourages all automobile enthusiasts and car buyers to check out the site.
"You've got nothing to lose," he said. "If you're lucky, you might just come away with some valuable information about a car."
Also, he hopes one day the site may be a valuable informational resource for people trying to learn about the driving skills of others.
"We'd like to be what Rotten Neighbor is to automobiles," he said.
