Pacnet's ADSL2+ offering will not only cater to the Consumer and SMB markets, but also larger Enterprise businesses.

(OPENPRESS) October 10, 2008 -- To meet the growing broadband demands of Australian businesses Pacnet has launched ADSL2+ high speed broadband services via Telstra's national ADSL2+ network.

"Bandwidth demand in Australia has been rapidly increasing with the penetration of Web 2.0 and related applications, along with a growing demand for hosted services" noted Deborah Homewood, Chief Executive Officer of Australia and New Zealand. "With Pacnet's latest ADSL2+ broadband service, we are now able to offer a high-speed broadband access service across the country to meet the growing demand of businesses and consumers alike."

Pacnet's latest service utilises Telstra's ADSL2+ DSLAM infrastructure, the largest deployment of ADSL2+ installed in over 1400 exchanges.

Telstra was selected as Pacnet's exclusive ADSL2+ partner because of its depth of coverage and flexibility in national delivery of a wide range of DSL services.

ADSL2+ technology builds on proven ADSL technology to enable download speeds of up to 20 Mbps, more than twice the 8 Mbps maximum download speed previously offered by Pacnet.

The new ADSL2+ plans will be packaged with a range of features with prices starting from $74.95 per month. Pacnet's ADSL2+ offering will not only cater to the Consumer and SMB markets, but also offer seamless integration into MPLS Private Networks for larger Enterprise businesses. ADSL2+ products will also be offered bundled with PSTN Voice services.

"Through Pacnet's proven customer service and technical expertise, coupled with our close partnership with Telstra, we are confident our ADSL2+ service will deliver the higher speeds promised by the new technology, while also maintaining Pacnet's standing in the industry as a truly business-grade service provider," said Ms Homewood.

"Additionally, we are also offering the latest ADSL2+ service as part of our suite of managed services for businesses, enabling them to focus on their core business while we take care of their telecommunication needs," she added.

Telstra Wholesale Group Managing Director Kate McKenzie said she was pleased Pacnet had chosen to expand its long-standing commercial relationship through the provision of ADSL2+ services.

"Telstra Wholesale is a unique full service provider able to give customers reliable and robust network solutions, high levels of end-to-end service and unmatched technical support for the products that we offer.

"We are proud to be recognised by Pacnet as adding value to their business model," Ms McKenzie said.
