Indian Beach, NC (OPENPRESS) April 23, 2008 -- Because women are more often the victims of a violent crime, WomenOnGuard.com donates 25 products to a different women's crisis center around the country on a monthly basis. WomenOnGuard.com is an e-commerce website that sells non-lethal self-defense products such as Mace, pepper spray, stun guns, the Taser C2, personal alarms and home protection products. The site includes hotlines, safety tips, helpful links and a Blog. WomenOnGuard.com, which was started in 2006 by two women, is targeted toward women by encouraging them to purchase non-lethal self-defense products instead of deadly weapons.
"Since April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we decided to offer a very special promotion; The WomenOnGuard.com Taser C2 GiveAway, which started on April 1st.", says Martha Z. Martinez, Co-Owner of WomenOnGuard.com. She goes on to state, "Customers who purchase any product from our website during the entire month of April will automatically be included in a random drawing at the end of the month to receive a FREE Taser C2 with Laser". She also mentions that the website has another offer to customers who purchase Mace Brand Products. Martha says, "Customers who purchase any Mace product, also during April, will get a 15% OFF discount at check-out. This includes not only the pepper sprays, but also the personal alarms and home protection products made by Mace as well. These promotions are our way of helping women and making the public notice the sexual assault epidemic that exists in this country and throughout the world". The other owner, Susan Eaton, also stated that women who go to college have the highest victim rate for this crime. Susan states, "Parents should make sure their daughters take extra precautions while attending college. Most colleges allow students to carry pepper spray due to the high incidence of these crimes on campus. We receive many calls from customers whose daughters attend college and are concerned about the dangers and latest news pertaining to violence on campuses." WomenOnGuard.com has a large selection of pepper spray and Mace. The most popular are the ones with a keychain, Susan stated, because you are less likely to forget to take your keys with you.
You must be 18 years of age to purchase Mace, pepper spray or stun gun products.
Pepper spray is legal in all 50 states, however some cities and states have restrictions on sizes and strengths. There are some states where the stun gun and Taser are illegal. WomenOnGuard.com does have a "State Restrictions" category on its website however, accepts no responsibility for its accuracy or completeness.
