Tata Chemicals Limited Babrala plant wins the prestigious NSCI Suraksha Puraskar in the manufacturing sector category

Tata Chemicals' Babrala plant in Uttar Pradesh is one of India's leading organizations implementing distinguished occupational safety and health (OSH) management systems and procedures

(OPENPRESS) Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL) Babrala plant in Uttar Pradesh recently bagged the esteemed National Safety Council of India's (NSCI) Suraksha Puraskar in the manufacturing sector category. The Award was conferred for implementing occupational safety and health (OSH) management systems and procedures at its Babrala plant. Tata Chemicals was awarded with a bronze trophy and a certificate for its commendable performance by the Honourable Minister of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India, at the NSCI Safety Awards.
Speaking on this achievement, Mr. R Mukundan, MD Tata Chemicals said, "Our Babrala plant has sustainability and excellence at its core, emphasizing operational health and safety measures. Such awards reinstate our commitment and dedication towards Safety, Health and Environment. We believe safety and health of the workforce is the basic necessity for sustainable existence of any business. The Suraksha Puraskar by the NSCI reinforces our belief and commitment to further the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) initiatives."
NSCI Awards aim at providing national recognition to manufacturing, construction organizations and MSME's (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) for their consistent and meritorious operational and safety performance. The nominees undergo a rigorous assessment process. The data provided by the nominees are verified by enforcement agencies under the Factories Act and the Environment Protection Act. A technical team from NSCI also conducts a field visit to inspect the facilities of short listed organizations.
The NSCI Suraksha Puraskar is adjudicated by a nine-member Awards Committee constituted by the Board of Governors of the Council. On completion of this extensive procedure of reviewing 320 applications for this award, the facilities at Tata Chemicals Babrala plant were adjudged to be operating with superlative standards of operational and health safety.

Tata Chemicals has previously been the recipient of NSCI award for its performance during the year 2004-2007 and was awarded with Sarva Shreshtha Suraksha Puraskar.
