Philadelphia, PA-NJ (OPENPRESS) Comprised entirely of kid performers, the Meridee Winters School of Music's Halloween show is a spirited, family-friendly Main Line tradition. This year the Saturday Club stage will be transformed into a magical castle for the day, as costumed performers play songs that range from slightly spooky (like the Harry Potter theme) to totally silly (like a Halloween-inspired parody of a Taylor Swift tune). This show has grown in popularity, so there will be five separate concerts held throughout the day, featuring a total of over eighty students. Living up to the school's creative reputation, this show will also feature original student compositions, creative spins on traditional songs and even some "magical" sound effects. Community members are encouraged to attend and be part of this unique and festive event.
The teachers at the Meridee Winters School of Music are talented and accomplished musicians themselves, frequently found on both national and international stages. Staff members include Julliard alumni, prominent local singer songwriters, and professional touring musicians. Other instructors have been featured on WXPN radio, such as Andrew Lipke, who has been teaching with the school since 1999 and is director of the school's MRock program.
Meridee Winters is vocal champion of creativity, and the author of her own self-published curriculum and method series dedicated to bringing creativity and exploration into music education.
