(OPENPRESS) MIAMI — Alexander E. Binelo, CPA and director in the Audit Department of Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF), has been reappointed to the Economic Development Board for the City of Coral Gables. Binelo was nominated by Coral Gables Commissioner Frank C. Quesada to remain on the board; his term began June 2013 and will run through May 31, 2015.
The Economic Development Board plays an instrumental role in developing programs to attract new businesses and developers to the City of Coral Gables. The board works hand-in-hand with the Coral Gables Economic Sustainability Department in making recommendations to the City Commission regarding development issues and formulating and executing the department's goals.

Binelo is MBAF's Healthcare Audit practice leader and has many years of experience auditing healthcare organizations, including Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), hospitals, and durable medical equipment companies, amongst others. In addition, Binelo has extensive work experience in the audits of various retail, sports and entertainment and wholesale/distribution organizations.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a board member of Family Resource Center of South Florida, an audit committee member of the United Way of Miami-Dade and a healthcare committee member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Binelo attended Florida International University where he earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree and a Master of Science in Taxation degree.
