Leah Hollis is giving a five part series for the Harlem Times on workplace bullying

Wilmington, DE (OPENPRESS) May 21, 2012 - Workplace bullying has the attention of state legislators as New York formally considered the issue in April 30. Many healthy workplace advocates visited Albany to discuss the problem which is costing organizations over $64 billion per year (Namie and Namie 2009).

As an expert on workplace bullying, Dr. Leah Hollis is featured on with the HARLEM TIMES from New York on issues on workplace bullying, innovation and diversity. Her series offers insight and strategies on how staff and employers can avoid workplace bullying.

Over the next month, Dr. Leah Hollis will visit the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity to offer a full day pre conference lecture on discrimination and harassment in the workplace. In June, Dr. Leah Hollis will also present a workshop at the American Association of Affirmative action national meeting in Washington DC. Her topic, WORKPLACE BULLYING: The Intersection of Discrimination and Bullying will be presented to a national audience of human resources personnel and diversity management personal.

Dr. Hollis comments, "Diversity management is just good business; whether we are advocating for protected classes (under Title VII) or not. Civility breeds innovation and creativity…" Dr. Hollis' lecture not only reflects on the ills of workplace bullying, but also considers the positive outcomes which result from an inclusive environment. Diversity is needed for innovation; those companies that fail to respectfully embrace different ideas will find themselves losing market share and irreplaceable talent.
In our tough times, organizations can hardly waste money and time recovering from the antics of a bullying.

When a bully is present, organizations spend countless hours emotionally trying to recover and hours still spent in replacing people who leave the toxic work environment.
