LBA Group's Lawrence Behr named Small Business Leader of the Year

The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce selected Behr to receive one of its most distinguished awards.
Gainesville, FL (OPENPRESS) Nearly 200 business leaders gathered on Tuesday May 7, 2013 in Greenville, NC for the Annual Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards Breakfast. The event featured keynote speaker Paula Hudson Hildebrand, President of N2 Health, Inc. The keynote address was followed by LBA Group, Inc. founder and CEO Lawrence Behr being presented with the Small Business Leader of the year Award for 2012.
The award comes as Behr's company marks its 50th anniversary in business. In 1963, he established Lawrence Behr Associates, Inc. He has organized and operated spectrum and tower management companies, a banking firm and radio and television stations.
As part of LBA Group, Lawrence Behr Associates, Inc. continues providing expert consultation services to a diverse and notable global clientele, including the nation's largest mobile communications and tower management companies. Another LBA Group company, LBA Technology, Inc. has become a respected worldwide provider of RF equipment. Most recently, Behr's parent company has introduced safety training, including RF safety, through LBA University, Inc.
In accepting the award Behr noted how it coincides with the key milestone for his company. "It is in fact a real honor to get this particularly on the 50th anniversary of our company here in Greenville," said Behr.
The Washington, NC resident encouraged those in attendance to not only look at their businesses as part of the economic foundation of the community but as an incubator of talent. "You may look back some years down the road and see a lot of good things that came out of the efforts of everybody in your organization," added Behr.
Behr has amassed decades of experience in broadcast and wireless communications engineering, management and marketing and has led his company to twice being awarded status as an INC 5000 company. LBA has also been cited as a top 50 Hispanic business in North Carolina for the last five years.
