Katie Falkenberg will be speaking on a panel of 6 this coming April about Media Making as participatory Democracy. On the panel with her will be Tim Pool, Arun Gupta, Susie Cagle, Joe Macar and Chris Farone.
(OPENPRESS) It's official! I've been confirmed as a speaker at the National Conference for Media Reform in April. Through my work with Occupy, CODEPINK and independent activism, I've had the unique opportunity to see activism and social change from a variety of perspectives. Of course, I wouldn't be doing this if I hadn't met Paul. Truth be told, he's the better photographer and the reason why I started using a camera (his camera) in the first place. Love leads you funny places. He'll be there too as a real journalist, covering the event.
I'll be speaking on a panel of 6, yes 6, on Occupy, Journalism and Activism: Media Making As Participatory Democracy with Chris Farone of the Boston Phoenix, Tim Pool of TimCast.TV, Arun Gupta of The Indypendent, Susie Cagle of Grist.org and Joe Macaré of TruthOut.
