Philadelphia Lawyer Stuart Davidson Recieves Highest Recognition from Peers for Unremitting Committment to Profession

Philadelphia, PA-NJ (OPENPRESS) Philadelphia labor and employment law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that Partner Stuart W. Davidson has been elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. This is the highest recognition by one's colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.

"The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is dedicated to the promotion of excellence and I am privileged to be recognized by my peers in such a group," said Davidson.

The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a not-for-profit organization comprised of highly accomplished and well regarded lawyers from every aspect of the labor and employment law community, represents close to 1,200 lawyers and government official members from more than 45 states, District of Columbia and Canada. The 18th installation of fellows will be held in November in New Orleans, LA and will coincide with the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section's Continuing Legal Education Conference.

Davidson's legal career, spanning three decades, has included vigorous representation of labor unions and employee benefit plans, serving a wide range of union workers, including musicians, longshoremen, food and commercial workers, university faculty, machinists, firefighters, police officers, teamsters, football players and many others. His work for public and private-sector unions includes leading contract negotiations, presenting interest and grievance arbitrations, representing employee benefit funds and advising clients on internal union matters. Davidson has also played key roles in the development of new and progressive benefit structures with the pension, health and welfare plans he represents.

In addition to serving as chief counsel to large regional and local unions along the East and Gulf coasts, Davidson is a frequent lecturer, teacher and author on such issues as ERISA, fiduciary responsibilities, labor law, employment discrimination, OSHA matters, drug and alcohol testing and other labor and employment concerns. He serves as Chair of the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners. A dedicated member of his community, he has been a Commissioner of the Delaware River Port Authority; board member and executive committee member of the Development Corporation for Israel; member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans' Attorneys Committee; Chair of the American Friends of the Yitzhak Rabin Center; and a member of the Board of Trustees of The Johns Hopkins University. Davidson has also received the Jewish Labor Committee's Humanitarian Award.

A cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and The Johns Hopkins University, Davidson has been listed among the top attorneys in the field of labor and employment law by "Best Lawyers in America®" since 1995, as chosen by his peers. Since 2004, he has been consistently named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters.
