Classic Holidays' CEO Ramy Filo awarded Top Honour
(OPENPRESS) Classic Holidays' CEO, Ramy Filo, has been awarded the highest honour in the Australian timeshare industry, being inducted into the Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council (ATHOC) Hall of Fame at a special ceremony on Wednesday night.
Devoted to the holiday ownership and timeshare industry, Mr Filo was selected for the top honour by his industry peers following his many achievements over the last 15 years.
Commencing as CEO of Classic Holidays in 1999, Mr Filo, a qualified mechanical engineer, served as President of ATHOC for seven years, and has been the current Vice President since 2010, as well as the peer-appointed Chairman of the Global Alliance of Timeshare Excellence (GATE) — a position he has held since 2006.
"Ramy is a true leader of the timeshare movement, and deserves every honour for his years of dedicated service to improving the industry from the ground up," said Classic Holidays Chief Operating Officer, Carole Smith.
"He has always led from the front, never afraid to step into unknown territory, and ultimately creating higher standards across the entire industry — not just here in Australia, but worldwide."
During his time as President of ATHOC, Mr Filo instigated several positive initiatives for the industry, such as the first economic impact study into the benefits of timeshare; and he played an instrumental role in the establishment of the ATHOC Foundation — a not-for-profit organisation that helps those in need of a break from challenging circumstances.
It was Mr Filo's recognition of customer satisfaction as the end goal that changed the focus of his own organisation, instilling a customer-focused ethos he describes as 'The Essence of Classic' across every area of the business.
This universal approach to customer service has seen Classic Holidays and its affiliated businesses receive numerous national and international accolades for outstanding service.
"I'm honoured to be inducted into the ATHOC Hall of Fame," said Mr Filo. "The Australian timeshare industry has so much to offer and I'm proud to have played a part in its tremendous growth over the past two decades.
"I have no doubt we'll continue the forward momentum, through innovative ideas and the dedication to make them happen, with many exciting plans in place at Classic Holidays and our entire group of companies for the near future."
