Four-Year Baccalaureate University Supports Raleigh Winterfest, Annual Meeting And Downtown Achievement Awards Program For Nonprofit Organization
Raleigh, NC (OPENPRESS) December 30, 2011 -- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that the university is sponsoring two events held by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, Raleigh Winterfest and the Downtown Raleigh Alliance Annual Meeting and Downtown Achievement Awards program. Raleigh Winterfest is a two-month-long extravaganza featuring an outdoor rink with natural ice in City Plaza that opened Dec. 3 and offers skate rentals for participants. The meeting and awards program will honor, recognize and celebrate the contributions of individuals, businesses and organizations that are making downtown Raleigh a more vibrant urban core at a gala event to be held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012. The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is a nonprofit organization created in 1996 by a coalition of community advocates, corporate leaders and government officials to promote the district as a dynamic element of North Carolina's capital city.
