Issaquah, Wash.-based company receives award for remodel of a private residence bathroom valued over $75,000.
Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (OPENPRESS) Shirey Handyman announces that it has received a Rex Award for remodeling excellence from the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties.
The Issaquah-based company received the award May 13, 2017, for a beautiful and innovative remodel of a private residence bathroom valued over $75,000.
The bathroom remodel was Shirey Handyman's third project for these homeowners, who loved their home's view from the master bathroom, but did not like the style or configuration. Working closely with the homeowners on a custom design and construction, Shirey Handyman sought to refresh, upgrade and open up the entire bath area without drastically changing the floor plan.
The new design included a new tub and dual-control shower, positioned in their original location, with dramatic herringbone tile effects and a bold glass shower surround. Such changes gave the entire room a bright, open, sophisticated presence. The design also included a separate room for the toilet with a sliding "barn door" that featured frosted privacy glass.
The dated vanity area was moved to a new location to feature two stylish sinks and faucets, separated by a large "floating" medicine chest. Fashionable under-lit custom cabinets offered a modern, yet classic, look, complete with a contemporary glass tile backsplash and designer light fixtures.
Other unique touches included curio niches at both ends of the dramatic rectangular tub, lightly veined marble countertops, and a recessed shelf within the spacious new shower.
By truly listening to the client's wishes, Shirey Handyman delivered a dream bathroom to the homeowners.
