Narrow Path Publishing Offers Free Button With Book Purchase

Customers who purchase Shades of Gay directly from Narrow Path Publishing will receive a free button with their purchase.
Raleigh, NC (OPENPRESS) December 31, 2010 -- Narrow Path Publishing is offering a free button to any customer who purchases Shades of Gay through the company's website, Stephanie Silberstein said. The button features rainbow colors on a white background and the book's catchphrase as well as its title. It is available separately on Silberstein's Cafepress site for $3.99.
Silberstein, who wrote Shades of Gay to help raise awareness about suicide in the LGBT community and encourage LGBT youth to stay alive, hopes the button will help readers make a difference. "The button expresses the central issue surrounding religious-based homophobia," she explains. "Wearing it not only expresses support for LGBT rights, but may provoke questions, which can lead to productive discussion about the issue." She added that her business partner, Hadassah D Gavi Chayim, is designing a bookmark as well. Once the bookmark is finished, readers will be able to choose whether they want the bookmark or the button as a thank-you gift when they purchase Shades of Gay.
To get a button, readers must purchase the book directly through Narrow Path Publishing rather than through online channels such as Amazon.com. Interested readers may order the book on Narrow Path Publishing's website using their Paypal accounts. Customers who do not have a Paypal account may contact Narrow Path Publishing using their feedback form to make alternative payment arrangements.
Customers may also request that Silberstein and Chayim autograph the book.
Shades of Gay costs $19.99 and is 536 pages long. 10 percent of profits go towards The Trevor Project, the only LGBT-oriented suicide hotline in the United States.
"We're want to make a difference to LGBT youth in any way we can," Silberstein says. "We hope readers will be proud to join us by wearing the buttons."
