The Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant donated $1,000 donation to the Enchanted Closet, which will directly benefit the organization's GIRL$ Program. The Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant will participate in future Enchanted Closet events.

Atlanta, GA (OPENPRESS) During the Enchanted Closet's Bear Brigade celebration held in December 2012, the nonprofit received a pleasant surprise. The Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant made a generous $1,000 donation to the Enchanted Closet, which will directly benefit the organization's GIRL$ Program. The Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant will participate in Enchanted Closet events. Most recently, the Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant participated in the 10th Anniversary Kickoff and Board Installation that was held on Sunday, Jan. 27 at B's Bistro in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

The Enchanted Closet hosted the Bear Brigade event to collect teddy bears for the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, which provides teddy bears to children ages 3-18 who have experienced sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, or who have witnessed violent crime in Fulton or DeKalb County, but may reside elsewhere in metro Atlanta.

The Enchanted Closet's GIRL$ Program consists of monthly life-readiness workshops designed to increase the self-esteem, self-awareness and self-sufficiency of girls. More than 400 girls have participated in the GIRL$ Program. Most recently, the GIRL$ Program was expanded to include STEM curriculum designed to expose the girls to careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

"The Enchanted Closet is extremely grateful to the Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant for their generous donation," said Bonita Johnson, President and CEO of the Enchanted Closet. "These funds will allow the organization to provide a variety of community services from outfitting plus size girls for prom to funding multiple girls participating in the GIRL$ Program. We are thrilled to have their support."

The Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant is managed by C-HEARTS L.L.C., a full-service pageant consulting entity, committed to excellence in pageantry. Founded on the motto: "Goals are dreams with a deadline," C-HEARTS L.L.C., is an organization vested in health competition.
