Irie Foundation to Receive Naming Rights of The Motivational Edge's Allapattah Music and Literacy Center.
Miami, FL (OPENPRESS) The Motivational Edge's Allapattah Music and Literacy Center will be renamed Irie Foundation - Allapattah Music and Literacy Center. A generous donation of $75,000 gives Irie Foundation exclusive naming rights to this center for the length of one-year. The funding will directly support the ever-growing music, arts and academic based programming offered to the under-resourced youth from Allapattah and the surrounding areas of Brownsville and Liberty City. "Irie and his Irie Foundation understand that the Arts play a fundamental role in a well rounded educational experience for children, leading to; increased self confidence, motivation to learn, tolerance of others and countless other benefits." Said Director of Programs, Rudy Sablon.
The journey of a lifetime begins with the first step. It is the aim of the Irie Foundation's Board to ensure that the first step is one that an under-served, under-resourced, capable and motivated young person can make confidently. With the right support we can enable them to fulfill the education of their mind, and the nourishment of their spirit through mentoring programs, musical and cultural experiences and scholarship opportunities. It is with great pleasure that the Irie Foundation can announce its increased involvement in the Allapattah community by funding the Irie Foundation Allapattah Music and Literacy Center. "We are building the foundation for our future Leaders of society, and we are proud to have made this first step in the journey of self-improvement for our young people of South Florida" says Ian Grocher, more popularly known as DJ Irie.
Since mid-2012, the Irie Foundation has played a vital role in supporting The Motivational Edge's efforts. "Irie and his team will now be providing a safe haven for many inner city youth, affording them a platform to positively express themselves and excel in and out of school. Their increased investment in this creative hub has breathed new life into the Allapattah community that will feel the positive impact for years to come." Said Ian Welsch, Founder and CEO of The Motivational Edge. The new signage was unveiled at Miami Beach Golf Course during the IWX Celebrity Golf Tournament on Friday, June 20, 2014.
