Look at the drama's that the UK has produced over the years from 'Upstairs Downstairs' to 'Downton Abbey' and 'Dixon of Dock Green' to 'The Bill.' Music programmes like 'Top of the Pops', The Tube' and 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' have kept us entertained for decades. You can't beat a good British soap opera like 'Coronation Street' or 'Eastenders' and our children's programmes such as 'Blue Peter', 'Fun House' and 'Crackerjack' evoke so many memories for you to discuss at TVmum.
We want this forum to grow into a passionate community of TV lovers that share their recent and past TV experiences, whether they are the shows that were on last night or years gone by.
So why the name TVmum I hear you ask? Well it's short and very easy to remember and we hope it'll attract the large majority of women who know so much about TV programmes in the UK. Whether that is the soaps they love or the shows they watch with their family. Oh and of course who wants to miss out on the chance of a good old gossip about what you're watching. Everyone is welcome here though some come on guys don't miss an opportunity to chat about the latest episodes of 'Top Gear', the latest happenings in the sports world (not just who's the prettiest girl on Sky Sports News) or all those home grown detective series.
In time we'd love to have a unique interactive TV guide for those of you who just can't get enough of UK television. It'd be great to have one integrated within the forum so our users can publish their comments direct from the listing.
There's so much to talk about isn't there? A seemingly endless list of great and sometimes not so great programmes which do you think should be in our Hall of Fame and how about a Hall of Shame for those programmes that the makers might want us all to forget about?
Variety is the spice of life and UK Television is certainly full of that so let's start watching and chatting about the great thing that is known as British television.
