Human Resource Management Firm Offers Training For Business Professionals

Raleigh, NC (OPENPRESS) December 28, 2011 -- Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, has announced the company's January 2012 schedule of training and development seminars. All courses will be held at CAI's Raleigh location at 2900 Highwoods Blvd., unless otherwise noted.

-"What Every Employer Needs to Know About Unions" is a half-day course focused on an employer's efforts to remain union-free and on creating relationships and a work environment that makes it difficult, if not impossible, for a union organizer to mount an effective campaign against the company. In light of not only the posting requirement, but the significant changes in labor law that will make organizing much easier, first-time attendees and veterans of previous seminars will find that this timely program is a wise investment of time and education dollars. The course will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. until noon. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/suxYpA.

-"Team Leader Certification Program" is an interactive two-day certification program that will help ensure team leaders are well prepared to perform at a high level. Through group discussions, exercises, role-plays and action planning, participants will develop the skills they need to succeed as a team leader, and better understand how to apply those skills to their specific workplace situations. The program will take place on Monday, Jan. 16 and on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/cHsA4n.

-"Customer Service Excellence Certification Program" is a highly-interactive, two-day certification program in which participants will discover how to maximize customer service skills with tools to improve overall customer and business relationships, strategies to more effectively communicate, tips to handle difficult personalities or situations with ease and "how to's" for making a professional impression in every customer interaction. The program will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 18 and on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/bPWx8O.

-"PHR/SPHR/GPHR Certification Study Course" focuses on how PHR/SPHR or GPHR certification will help participants, and the best way to prepare for the examination. In a 60-minute session, David Siler, PHR, SPHR, GPHR, will provide a sample of course materials and will discuss if an HR certification is right for participants. The session will take place on Friday, Jan. 20 from 11 a.m. until noon. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/brW61A.

-"Newly Appointed Supervisor Certification Program" is a two-day program that will help first-time supervisors and managers establish a strong foundation for success. Starting with a self-assessment, the program will identify strengths and essential areas for growth to ensure a smooth and effective transition into management roles. Participants will cover basic supervisory skill building, and strategies for building trust, communicating effectively, motivating and recognizing employees, delegating and managing conflict. Each attendee will develop action plans to transfer lessons and skills learned directly back to their job. The program will take place Tuesday, Jan. 24 and Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/9TWV1s.

-"Leveraging Your Emotional Intelligence" is an interactive training workshop that focuses on emotional intelligence, self-awareness and successfully relating to others. It provides participants with techniques to develop their emotional intelligence and the opportunity to identify scenarios to apply their emotional intelligence at work. Participants will begin the day with an interactive experiential exercise that demonstrates how strong leadership requires emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire team ownership and commitment. They will learn what emotional intelligence is and how emotional intelligence relates to leadership excellence. Participants will then analyze, interpret and discuss their results from the BarOn EQ-i assessment they completed for pre-work. The program concludes with the creation of a detailed action plan for participants to apply on the job. This workshop will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/msEkja.

-"Inspiring Employee Motivation" is a half-day interactive workshop in which course participants will learn how to identify what motivates employees and how to use that knowledge to inspire optimal productivity. By discussing motivation styles, the key elements to creating a motivating work environment, and how to use the PAR recognition approach, participants will discover all the tools needed to inspire employees and increase productivity. This program will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/cQrnVB.

-"What Every Manager Needs to Know About Progressive Discipline and Termination" is a half-day course that will prepare managers to effectively use progressive discipline and, when necessary, conduct the termination process. Participants will discover the essential elements of a progressive discipline process, identify when progressive discipline is appropriate, and apply discipline fairly and consistently. In addition, the importance of proper documentation in the discipline and termination processes will be discussed. Finally, participants will learn the "dos and don'ts" when terminating an employee and how to handle difficult employee reactions. The course will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. until noon. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/nqSW8R.
