Los Angeles Water Feature Company Reports Strong Growth in Backyard Ponds for 2007
With a softening property value market, more and more people are putting their money into their existing homes rather than moving up. One of the biggest areas in terms of spending growth in recent years has been landscaping. According to the American Nursery and Landscape Association, US homeowners spent more than $11 billion in landscaping services in 2002 (the survey's most recent year). That represents a 3x growth over the $3.6 billion spent on landscaping five years earlier in 1997.
One of the biggest segments of this industry is water features; ponds, backyard waterfalls and streams. California Waterscapes, a company that designs and builds water features around the greater Los Angeles area, and is the biggest water feature installer in the US, reported a 12% increase in their water feature installations in 2007 over 2006.
