London, UK (OPENPRESS) February 20, 2011 -- IncaX, an Independent Software Vendor of advanced mobile computing applications, today formally announced the launch of CopTrax.
Initially designed and tested with The Office Of Naval Research DBT to meet C4ISR requirements for field tests in North Carolina the IncaX Geocasting software for smartphones was spotted by Allen Smith, Chief Of Police at Atlantic Beach NC.
"I immediately realized the potential the software had for first responders. We tested CopTrax during a couple of exercises working with the Office of Naval Research and later as a stand-alone test agency. We worked with IncaX to incorporate features to enhance the software geared more towards law enforcement and first responder use. We are excited and have incorporated this new technology through the use of our mobile data computer program. The software gives us the ability to live stream video from squad cars to my desktop, view real time or recall information collected on vehicle tracking, as well as real time AVL. The program allows population of our on-line crime status maps with a single button stroke. From an officer safety stand point, we have the ability to locate officers through the AVL should they require help without opportunity to call in their location. The potential for this new technology is limited only by the agency's imagination." said Allen Smith, Chief of Police Atlantic Beach PD NC
The new software from IncaX turns a standard Windows laptop into a High Definition in-car video system with dual video / audio channels, pre-event recording and GPS tracking.
Shawn Reaume, Police Captain Atlantic Beach PD NC said "During weeks of live testing of Coptrax we quickly discovered that this product combined with our pre-existing laptop systems will provide much greater video, live mapping, and reporting enhancements than we have previously experienced in high end, stand-alone in-car video systems. The ability to update the software is as simple as using a thumb drive. This is the future of law enforcement in-car video systems at a fraction of the current costs."
The CopTrax laptop software can work independently or in conjunction with the IncaX enterprise services that support live video streaming with GPS tracking from a variety of different cell phone makes and models.
Phil Bishop, CTO at IncaX said "Working closely with Atlantic Beach Police Department during their trial of our software gave us a unique opportunity to see how it was being used on a daily basis in their patrol cars. Feedback from the officers via Captain Reaume allowed us to fine tune the software to the point we felt that we could release a product specifically for in-car video - that's how CopTrax came about."
