Reading, UK (OPENPRESS) March 5, 2010 -- Bespoke HR Consultancy; Indigo HR Consulting have responded to recent account wins by adding new specialists to expand their associate base.

Despite the challenging business market, Berkshire-based Indigo HR Consulting have never been busier and are adding new HR, HR, Training and Coaching Specialists to the team in response to recent account wins. Headed by CIPD Fellow, Louise Farrell, Indigo HR are now a team of eight HR Consultants providing bespoke HR services to small and medium-sized businesses supported by a wide range of specialisms.

Indigo HR have been providing outsourced HR services to businesses across the south-east of England since 2004 and have always had a healthy account roster. The economic downturn of the last 18 months could have seen this change, but the reality has been the reverse with Indigo HR taking on several new accounts in the pharmaceuticals and financial services industries in recent weeks.

‘We have found the downturn has brought challenges, but also opportunities for us’, said Louise Farrell. ‘When costs are under pressure and businesses are shedding staff, they need specialist HR advice. They may also need to re-locate or re-train people and we are able to help there too!’

‘The Indigo HR model is to have a pool of Personnel and HR Specialists who are collectively able to respond to any brief’, explained Louise Farrell. ‘All the team have wide generalist experience and are able to provide comprehensive HR support to businesses of all sizes. However, we enhance the Indigo HR proposition by each of our associates providing a particular specialist subject too, allowing us to deliver training, employment and dismissal advice and redundancy and recruitment support.’

Recent additions to the Indigo HR team are Andrea Grist, who is an organisational development specialist, with a focus on leadership development, who improves individual and team performance at all levels and Louise Wingrove – a training and learning expert who has led global training programmes for several MNCs. ‘Both Andrea and Louise bring huge knowledge and experience to the Indigo HR team’, added Louise Farrell, ‘and they fit well with our existing associates to help service our current clients as well as competitively pitch for further accounts.’

Indigo HR is ideally suited to support growing and acquisitive businesses where employees are being brought together from differing contractual backgrounds or smaller businesses which require HR functions but cannot justify a permanent appointment. ‘We work particularly well with businesses moving into the UK from abroad, either through acquisition or via new office set-up’, Louise Farrell commented, ‘because we can provide all aspects of HR services very quickly and cost-effectively. We even help to recruit and train permanent HR managers that effectively ultimately replace us!’

Whilst the economy continues to present challenges to businesses, Indigo HR’s experience suggests that there are opportunities for businesses which are effective and agile. Flexibility and good value appear to be the key factors in thriving in the downturn and providers who can offer this to their clients are the ones who will succeed. With Indigo; their clients appear to be tickled pink!
