Norwich, UK (OPENPRESS) November 24, 2009 -- Eastern Laser Vision was formed by Chris Illingworth, Consultant Ophthalmologist and corneal specialist surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The company provides a comprehensive range of vision correction treatments for the population of Norfolk and Suffolk. Conditions treated are myopia (short-sight) hyperopia (long-sight) and astigmatism. Laser treatments include femtosecond all laser LASIK and surface excimer laser. The femtosecond laser is used to create a flap in the cornea, and after lifting the flap a second excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea. Eastern Laser Vision uses the advanced Ziemer LDV femtosecond laser, and the VISX Star S4 excimer laser. Non-laser treatments include implantable contact lens and refractive lens exchange (similar to cataract surgery but utilising clear lens exchange to correct myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism).
