Trick or Treat at the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation

Los Angeles, CA (OPENPRESS) October 7, 2009 -- Montclair NJ-based Brandspa Sweeps Business Marketing Association of NJ’s 2009 Impact Awards and Wins ‘Best of Show’Join Host Jamie Lee Curtis and Honorary Event Vice Chairs Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Jason Priestley, Doris Roberts and Melina Kanakaredes to support children affected by AIDS at the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation’s 16th Annual Dream Halloween® Los Angeles. Joe Cristina, Founder & Board Chair of the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (www.CAAF.org) welcomes celebrities and families for a “Rock-On”-themed Halloween celebration dedicated to children in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean who are affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

This year’s Dream Halloween® Los Angeles takes place at the Barker Hangar in the Santa Monica Air Center from 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Daryl Hannah and Hilary Shepard are also expected to attend.

A one-of-a-kind doll created in the likeness of honorary event chair emeritus, Elizabeth Taylor will feature her as Velvet Brown from National Velvet. A special edition doll is being created for honorary event chair, Barbra Streisand. Both will be part of the live auction. In addition, the auction will feature the first one-of-a-kind doll in the likeness of Jamie Lee Curtis, one-of-a-kind dolls in the likeness of Dylan and Cole Sprouse, a one-of-a-kind doll Barbie® scale Dreamhouse designed by Jonathan Adler, and a Mattel Design Center Tour and one-of-a-kind doll created in the winner’s likeness. The event will also feature Dream Halloween®, the Art Show, an auction of paintings from Mattel’s historic library and one of a kind art created by world famous toy and entertainment artists.

“Events like Dream Halloween® Los Angeles allow us to raise critical funds and support the more than two million children living with HIV and an additional 15 million who have been orphaned due to AIDS,” said Cristina. “The foundation has raised more than $35 million since inception and has been in large part due to our gracious sponsors, event attendees, performers and volunteers.”

The Rock-On-themed event will feature trick-or-treating for toys, costume characters, games, arts and crafts and delicious food from Chaya Venice, Drago Ristorante, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Hard Rock Café, NBC Universal Studios, Nestle USA, Hooters, La Grande Orange, Law Firm of Keesal, Young & Logan, Lucky Strike Lanes, New Zealand Natural Premium Ice Cream, Sashi Sushi & Sake Lounge, Tanino Ristorante and Minx Restaurant and Lounge..

In addition, Tony Buzzelli, Vice Chairman at Deloitte will receive the foundation’s Ribbon of Dreams® Award in the Industry Award Category and Freeman Company will be honored with the Distinguished Service Award for their work in helping the organization achieve its mission.
