Boise, ID (OPENPRESS) February 12, 2008 -- In a slight twist, Boise's annual Murder in the Grove mystery conference goes "thriller" for 2008. This hot genre makes up the bulk of today's bestselling novels. Over twenty authors, agents, and forensics specialists will explore mysteries, thrillers, the writer's life, and the publishing industry in panel discussions, workshops, and manuscript evaluations for readers and writers of crime fiction.
New York Times best-selling author of both mysteries and thrillers, J. A. Jance, will be the conference's Guest of Honor. Jance writes thrillers, three mystery series, and has also published a book of poetry. Jance was born in South Dakota, grew up in Bisbee Arizona, and presently lives with her husband in Seattle, Washington. At the conference, the Popular Fiction Association of Idaho, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting literature, will present her with Idaho's 2008 Bloody Pen Award for excellence in writing.
A full day master class for writers, "Writing the Thriller," will be presented by the highly acclaimed instructor and New York Times best-selling author and creator of "Rambo," David Morrell.
The conference will be held at the Boise Centre on the Grove, June 6-7, 2008. As the popularity of Murder in the Grove continues to grow - attracting attendees from across the nation - registering early becomes ever more important to take advantage of all the benefits, especially the full day master class and one-on-one agent appointments because they fill up quickly.
In addition, the public is invited to meet Jance, Morrell, and the other conference participants at a book and dessert party at 7:00 p.m., June 6, at Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 1315 N. Milwaukee, Boise. Look for announcements of other events with the authors around town.
