Cleveland, OH (OPENPRESS) January 15, 2008 -- Corporate United, the nation's leading group purchasing organization, is hosting its seventh annual SYNERGY conference April 15-17, 2008 in Baltimore. SYNERGY 2008 will feature the Honorable Michael G. Oxley, former U.S. Congressman and co-sponsor of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, as the keynote speaker.

SYNERGY 2008, a national spend management conference, brings together leading supply chain and spend management professionals to discuss compelling and relevant procurement issues. The conference also includes breakout sessions featuring strategic sourcing authorities such as Keith Thompson, manager of strategic sourcing for Progressive Insurance, and Caldwell Hart, director of global indirect sourcing for Dresser-Rand, as they address some of the most thought-provoking procurement topics.

Speakers at the 2007 conference included: former Institute for Supply Management Chairperson and Motorola Chief Procurement Officer Theresa Metty, former Daimler Chrysler President Thomas Stallkamp, International Association for Contract & Commercial Management President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Cummins, and supply chain industry pioneer Orville Bailey, among others. The attendees responded with enthusiastic approval of the content presented. Corporate United member, Joel Weina, director of indirect procurement of a Forbes Platinum 400 company, commented, "I have attended many conferences over my 15 years within supply chain/procurement, but SYNERGY 2007 was the best I have been to. The talent that Corporate United had giving presentations was outstanding, and I am definitely looking forward to SYNERGY 2008."

"SYNERGY has quickly become a highly anticipated spend management conference," said Gregg Mylett, president of Corporate United. "As we enter our seventh consecutive year for SYNERGY, we could not be more pleased with the caliber of speakers, attendees and content the event brings together."
