(OPENPRESS) August 20, 2012 -- On July 29th an autobiography was released through Lulu Publishing by an anonymous author using the pen name Guido. Since enduring a life of abuse at an early age in a home with deaf parents, the author has felt compelled to have his story "heard" and, after years of deliberation, has finally released his book, Adytum.
"I've had a passion to write ever since I learned what words were," said the author of his writing career, "but I've always had the stumbling block of this story, my life. I don't mean to be boastful, but I've had an amazing life, and I needed to share what I have learned from it. I finally feel like I've told this story in the right way, and now I can move on to other projects. I intend to begin a fantasy-fiction series under my real name; we'll see if I can make it as a real writer. The important thing is that I'm ready to try."
Guido has chosen to remain anonymous in an attempt to respect the peace and privacy of family members who do not wish to tell their stories in this way.
In his interactions with the world, Guido discovered that he wasn't the only one struggling with voice, as abuse in all it's forms is rampant throughout the world. With that in mind, he has put forth his project, as well as a website that is both an author page and a forum intended for those struggling to be heard, whether it be as a writer, or as a person.
Though his story is one of many, the author hopes the lessons in his life can help those who may be struggling with their own experiences. Aside from the book and the website, Guido will be donating 10% of the proceeds from the book to various charities in an additional effort to repay the kindness he was shown in some of his own experiences, as well as a blog for open discussions and questions.
