Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor Sponsor Touching Lives Worldwide Charity Golf Tournament

Raleigh, NC (OPENPRESS) June 21, 2012 -- Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor are proud to announce their recent sponsorship of the "Touching Lives Worldwide" Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The event was held on May 17th at the P.B.Dye Golf Club in Ijamsville, Maryland. The companies served as a Golf Hole sponsor and had team members participate in the event as a foursome.
Touching Lives Worldwide, Inc. is an approved 501 (c)3 non-profit Christian organization where God uses people to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of others throughout the world. Its compassion-driven team is dedicated to serving God through serving others. The golf event raised money for the organization's two ministry projects: New Hope Children's Refuge in Haiti and Mission School for the Deaf in the Dominican Republic.
Representing Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor in this year's golf event was David Williams (Vice President), Phil Kearney (Beltsville Branch Manager), Steve Garner (Sales Manager), and Brad Lintz (Outside Sales Representative, Beltsville). It was a customer of Lintz's-At Your Door Floor Store-that extended the invitation to participate and the company welcomed the opportunity.
"Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor believe in helping those less fortunate and in need," says Williams. "As a company, we are committed to having a positive impact on our community and are proud that several of our branches have taken the initiative to develop their own community outreach programs. We all experienced a wonderful day of golf and felt great knowing that we were helping such a worthwhile charity and cause."
The New Hope Children's Refuge of Haiti strives to help the region's thousands of homeless children. The Mission School for the Deaf is located in Dajabon, Dominican Republic, a town that sits on the Haiti border. This school provides hope and a new life for the thousands of deaf children in the Dominican Republic and Haiti who are often abused or abandoned by one or both of their parents.
Touching Lives Worldwide has several volunteer opportunities for those wishing to serve. The types of volunteer jobs are numerous and include construction, medical assistance, computer data entry, evangelism, fundraising, and general office work.
