Orono, ON (OPENPRESS) May 29, 2012 -- With eReaders being used in over 100 countries worldwide, by over five million readers, eBooks are increasingly becoming a preferred method of book consumption for Canadian readers. To supply the increased demand for eBooks, five Canadian Christian book retailers have partnered with Foundation Distributing Inc. to launch an innovative first-to-market initiative, allowing Canadian readers to access a full catalogue of Christian titles. Initial participating Canadian booksellers launching eBook enabled websites powered by FDIDigital in include House of James, Blessings Christian Marketplace, Scott's Parable Christian Stores, Faith Family Books and BooksforChrist.com. The addition of FDIDigital to popular Christian bookstore websites means that Canadian consumers can now easily access almost 20,000 quality eBooks and downloadable Christian audiobooks through trusted retailers.
"Four times as many Canadians are reading eBooks today than they were two years ago" says Pat Chown owner of Foundation Distributing Inc. "It is our hope that adding this service through trusted retail partners will satisfy the appetites of consumers who are voracious readers with a complete selection of Christian eBooks in the form they prefer."
As the FDIDigital platform rollout continues, additional Canadian retailers will be added. Customers will enjoy limited time daily and weekly FREE eBook offers highlighted at www.facebook.com/fdidigital, ongoing special pricing on promotional products and can participate in online giveaways and contests during the June promotional launch campaign.
"Those readers who have taken the plunge into reading eBooks are said to read more frequently than those who do not. EBook users read an average of 24 books per year, while non-eBook readers read just 15 books per year," said Pat Chown of Foundation Distributing Inc.
