Prepare For Green Deal With Knauf Insulation Accredited Installer Scheme

UK (OPENPRESS) April 17, 2012 - Knauf Insulation has launched a new Accredited Installer Scheme aimed at upskilling tradesmen in preparation for the implementation of the Green Deal. Courses will focus on the installation of Internal Wall Insulation (IWI), due to play a fundamental role in delivering the carbon emission reduction targets of the Government initiative.
Through the scheme, Knauf Insulation now offers a survey course and an installation course, both combining theory and practical workshops to provide attendees with an understanding and working knowledge of the Knauf Insulation ThermoShell IWI system. Following training, installers are then supervised on their first three installations and on successful completion, they will be fully approved and able to benefit from Knauf Insulation's technical support and warranty.
The BBA certified ThermoShell IWI System is designed for upgrading existing solid external walls. It consists of thermally engineered insulated studs and water repellent glass mineral wool insulation slabs, which can be combined to provide greater thicknesses of thermal insulation than achievable by using a single thickness. It's simplicity allows a competent tradesman to install and finish the system, making it an ideal route for tradesmen looking to take advantage of the expected rise in IWI projects when the Green Deal comes into force.
