Prof. De Goede, IBFD Tax Knowledge Management, Awarded Polish Knight

(OPENPRESS) March 17, 2012 -- By Presidential Decision of 19 October 2011, Johannes Jacobus Pius de Goede has been conferred the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland (Krzyż Kawalerski Orderu Zasługi Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej) for his extraordinary merits in the development of Polish-Dutch cooperation in sciences.
The ceremony of bestowing the Cross, performed by Voivod Jolanta Chełmińska, took place on Thursday 15 March 2012 at the office of the Voivodship of Łódź, Poland.
The Knight's Cross granted for Prof. De Goede's contribution to the development of Dutch-Polish relations
The grounds for granting the Cross are based on Prof. De Goede's contribution to the development of Dutch-Polish relations. Through international tax training, seminars and publications, Prof. De Goede helped the development of scientific and academic cooperation between:
1. the University of Łódź, within his functions at the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies and the Tax Law Chair;
2. and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam.
Prof. De Goede has been at the forefront of promoting relations between the University of Łódź and a number of universities in various countries. As a teaching professor, he also advocated the University of Łódź with international bodies such as the International Fiscal Association, the European Association of Tax Law Professors, and the United Nations as a participant in numerous conferences and expert panels.
About Prof. Jan de Goede
Prof. De Goede is an IBFD Senior Principal, Tax Knowledge Management. He has lectured on international tax law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Łódź for 10 years. Since last year Prof. De Goede has chaired the Programme Board of the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies of this university.
He also teaches at several other universities in the Netherlands and abroad. He is a member of the European Association of Tax Law Professors and of the International Fiscal Association. Before joining IBFD he worked for 19 years at the Dutch Ministry of Finance, heading several divisions at the Directorate General for Tax Policy and Legislation.
