Home Health Aide Training Now Offering an HHA Training Guide

Submitted by: HomeHealthAideTrainingGuide.Com

2012-02-26 08:29:58

(OPENPRESS) February 27, 2012 -- The general manager on the Home Health Aide Training website today announced the publication of a new HHA training guide which helps prospective students learn how to become a certified aide for the home. The website is updated on a weekly basis with helpful and useful information for people performing research on the profession.

A home health aide provides basic caregiving services to elderly or handicapped individuals so the patients are allowed to remain in their homes as opposed to entering a medical facility or a senior retirement home. The HHA performs services such as personal grooming, preparing meals, light housekeeping, monitoring a patient's vital signs and medication schedule, preparing meals and they provide companionship.

According to many home health aide training institutions, the profession is expect to continue to grow as the baby boomers age and decide to "age-in-place" by living in their homes until it is no longer feasible. In other words, baby boomers are the driving force behind the increase in demand for home health aide professionals.

"I wanted to work in the health care field since I was a little girl and we used to visit our mother in the hospital. I was going to become a nurse but then got pregnant after high school and settled in to raise a family. As soon as my children became old enough to fend for themselves, I got enrolled in a training program and it is the best move I could've made for me and my family". Miranda Kelly, Houston, TX

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the job outlook for home health aides will continue to grow for about another decade. And more and more training facilities are opening throughout the country to help fill the need for caregivers. In fact home health aide is the second-fastest growing occupation in the United States next to registered nurses.
