Car Audio Group Focuses on Product Innovation to Meet New Standards for C-NCAP

(OPENPRESS) February 24, 2012 -- An innovation and reform of the car industry are expected in China as the new standards for China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP) are just announced. With the proposal of the new standards, not only car industry in China will face higher requirements on safety, but also car related industries, such as the industries of car stereo, car radio and auto radio, will be urged to upgrade their safety level.
According to the C-NCAP management center, the management rules for C-NCAP have been repeatedly evaluated and revised, and the latest provisions will become effective in July 2012 under the initial plan.
The rules have been attracting media attention for several months, and will bring thorough reforms for the C-NCAP. Under the new rules, higher level of safety requirements is put on the table, not only to car manufacturers, but also to manufacturers of car accessories, such as car audio, car stereo, car radio and auto radio.

Joseph pointed out that car audio products were a type of car accessories and were installed in the control center of a car. This situation will make the car audio products become a part of the test object. Therefore, innovation at a high level of safety is required urgently for car audio, car stereo, car radio and auto radio.
Reports from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center show that large revisions have been made for the C-NCAP's crash test, especially on the speed requirements, programs and the rating standards.
"A new sector of competition is already raised in the car audio manufacturers," Joseph said. "No new car owner will accept a less safer car stereo or car audio installed in his or her car. The only way to win a higher market share of new car owners is by an innovation on the car radio and auto radio products, to improve the safety level at acceptable costs."
In the meantime, Joseph welcomed the new standards. He agreed that manufacturers and consumers would increase the awareness of automobile safety, as well as inner and outer accessories. The rules are actually directing the car industry and related industries to favorable reforms of people.
