CAI's Nicole Hendren Wins Triangle Business Journal CFO Of The Year Award

Raleigh, NC (OPENPRESS) October 11, 2011 -- Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, has announced that Nicole Hendren, CPA, has won the Triangle Business Journal CFO of the Year Award in the Small Nonprofit Company category. Hendren has served as director of corporate services and controller at CAI for six years, where she manages accounting, human resources, IT and systems, and administrative support. She is a board member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA) and chairs the Member Connections Committee. Hendren, along with 18 other financial professionals dedicated to the improvement of local businesses and their financial future, were honored at a luncheon held at the Raleigh Marriott City Center.

"Under her guidance, CAI minimized significant operating losses during the recent economic downturn by deciding what expense reductions would assist us in moving forward in the recovery. Her work with us has been invaluable, and I am glad to see her being recognized through this award."
- Hendren's community service includes volunteering on the Financial Literacy Council, working with the Youth Council of the Triangle United Way and serving as treasurer of her middle school's PTA board.
- A graduate of N.C. State University with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting, Hendren resides in Angier with her husband, Steve, and their two sons, Matthew and Joshua.
