The GPU Xpander can accelerate Davinci Resolve 8 performance up to 8 times that of a base system with a single GPU. The performance gain pays for itself in just a few projects by drastically reducing the time spent on each color grading project.
The GPU Xpander product line is a series of unique PCIe slot expansion solutions that offers 2 - 8 additional PCI Express Gen2 x16 slots per workstation or server. GPU-Xpander solves the problems of too few slots and watts in Apple Mac Pro computers, while enabling modular, scalable GPU Compute growth to Windows and Linux application markets which have to carefully manage their IT growth during a struggling economy using legacy blades and rackmount PC systems. GPU-Xpander Rackmount 2 and Rackmount 8 will usually run perfectly with host systems that have been in place for the past 2-3 years.
The DaVinci Resolve 8-certified GPU-Xpander Desktop 4 provides Resolve 8 users with four double-wide PCIe x16 slots, while using only 1 slot in the Mac Pro (or a single 16-channel slot in the Linux-certified host), a 1200W auto-ranging power supply, optional "Quiet Fan" exhaust system for Mac Pro, and a 1meter data transfer cable + host interface card which supports a full 80Gbps PCIe x16 bandwidth connection.
