The Building Performance Institute (BPI) recognizes businesses committed to increasing the energy efficiency of buildings though a whole-house approach. Companies recognized by the BPI perform energy audits to determine the source of wasted heating or cooling and install or upgrade insulation, weatherization, or radiant barriers to make the building as energy efficient as possible. The result is less energy usage and lower utility bills.
As a participating contractor in multiple utility rebate programs throughout Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Waco and San Antonio, companies like Green Collar Operations receive specialized training and are equipped with diagnostic tools to inspect homes inside and out to determine where improvements are needed. Rather than focusing on a single problem, like an old heating or cooling system, not enough insulation in the attic, or leaky windows, they look at how a comprehensive set of improvements can give homeowners the best results.
