Providence O'christmas Trees To Kick Off The 2018 Holiday Season With Fun Events To Benefit Those In Need Through Healthcare, Housing And Hospice

Event kicks of 2018 holiday season

Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (OPENPRESS) A glorious extravaganza of holiday beauty and spirit await guests at this year's Providence O' Christmas Trees fundraiser to benefit those served by Providence Senior and Community Services. Celebrating its 34th year of supporting the community, Providence O'Christmas Trees will feature 14 uniquely designed Christmas trees that will amaze guests and donors who support the event's mission to help those in need through healthcare, housing and hospice.

The 2018 Providence O'Christmas Trees kicks off the holiday season Nov. 26-28, 2018, with a Family Preview, Silver Bells Luncheon, and the O'Christmas Trees Gala Dinner & Auction, all at The Westin Seattle.

Former KING-TV anchor Dennis Bounds will continue his 19-year tradition of emceeing the event.

"As the delivery of healthcare continues to evolve, one thing is certain — the number of poor and vulnerable people who rely on our services is growing," said Patricia Szabo, executive director of Providence Senior and Community Services Special Events. "The generosity of our donors allows Providence Senior and Community Services to serve more than 30,000 people on any given day through our ministries and ensures that every person who seeks our help receives the critical care they need. Thank you for your support."

Guests at this year's events will be awed the by spectacularly decorated trees with this year's standout themes that include "A Charlie Brown Christmas," sponsored by Sound Community Bank and designed by Laurie Stewart and team, "A Few of My Favorite Things," sponsored by Walsh Construction and designed by Shauna Reid, and "Little Drummer Boy," sponsored by Kantor Taylor and designed by Laura Bronson.

The three-day event offers holiday fun and joy for all ages. Families are invited to kick off the holiday season on Nov. 26 at the free Family Preview, from 3 to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy pictures with Santa, exciting and festive entertainment with headline performer Caspar Babypants, special treats and kids' arts and crafts. They'll enjoy perusing the beautifully decorated designer Christmas trees and voting on their favorite.

On Nov. 27, the community is invited to attend the Silver Bells Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Celebrate the spirit of the season with a moving performance by the Seattle Men's Chorus while perusing designer-decorated Christmas trees and voting for the favorite. Those attending will enjoy holiday shopping at unique shops. Proceeds benefit seniors and hospice patients served by Providence Health & Services' Senior and Community Services.

The O'Christmas Trees Gala Dinner & Auction, chaired by Doug Ross and Claudia Sanders, will follow on the evening of Nov. 28. The trees and other amazing items will be auctioned to benefit seniors and hospice patients served by Providence Health & Services' Senior and Community Services.

Reservations are required for the Silver Bells Luncheon and the O' Christmas Trees Gala Dinner & Auction. Luncheon reservations may be made online or by calling Patricia Szabo at 206-938-2788. Providence Health & Services has provided healthcare, housing and supportive care services for people in the Puget Sound area for 162 years. Money raised from these events provides programs and services for those who are elderly or disabled, disenfranchised, or facing end of life. They are served by Providence ElderPlace, Heritage House at the Market, Providence Hospice of Seattle, Providence Home Services, Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services, Providence Supportive Housing, Providence Marianwood, and Providence Mount St. Vincent - all of which are available to residents of King County.

This year's event lineup includes:

On Sunday, Nov. 25, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., media representatives are invited to Designer Day at The Westin Seattle to watch veteran local tree designers transform 7-foot fir trees into works of art. Each unique tree design takes months to plan and involves elaborate materials and a complex decorating process. Those who are unable to attend Designer Day will have additional opportunities for coverage during the Christmas Carnival, the Silver Bells Luncheon, and the Gala Dinner and Auction.

On Monday, Nov. 26, from 3 to 7 p.m., the public is invited to the free Family Preview featuring Santa, exciting and festive entertainment with headline performer Caspar Babypants, snacks, kids' arts and crafts and a stroll through a forest of uniquely designed trees that will be auctioned off at the O'Christmas Trees Gala Dinner & Auction.

On Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests with advanced reservations will gather for The Silver Bells Luncheon to enjoy lunch in a glade brimming with dazzling holiday trees. This lunch hour event features a fantastic performance by the Seattle Men's Chorus, a visit from Santa and the opportunity to cross some holiday shopping off their list at unique shops. On Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 5 p.m., guests with advance reservations will gather for the O'Christmas Trees Gala Dinner & Auction in The Westin Seattle's Grand Ballroom for an elegant and stunning evening that is Seattle's premier holiday gala of giving and generosity. Guests will capture the magic of the season as they dine among the sparkling lights of professionally designed Christmas trees. The gala evening draws hundreds of business and community leaders, their families and friends. This year's gala will serve the first 750 guests to register.
