Northwest Kidney Centers' Breakfast of Hope will raise money for charity care and support services for patients and their families.

Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (OPENPRESS) Basketball legend Lenny Wilkens will deliver the keynote address at Northwest Kidney Centers' annual Breakfast of Hope fundraising event Thursday May 9. Wilkens coached the Seattle Supersonics to their only NBA championship in 1979 following a hall-of-fame career as a player.

The event will raise money for charity care and support services for patients and their families. The breakfast runs from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at the Westin Seattle, 1900 Fifth Ave.

Named one of the NBA's top 50 players of all time and one of the top 10 coaches, Lenny Wilkens understands how strong leadership and overcoming challenges creates champions.

Q13 News anchor Matt Lorch will be the master of ceremonies. A passionate supporter of nonprofit organizations, Matt has been impacted by kidney disease among his own family members.

The event is free to attend thanks to underwriting from sponsors, and a $150 donation is requested. Register online at www.nwkidney.org/breakfast or call 206-720-8585.

Why is this event important?
Money raised will help Northwest Kidney Centers continue to provide charity care and support services for patients and their families.
