(OPENPRESS) Expanding leadership and enhancing technical expertise, Cool Planet — the developer of carbon negative fuels, chemicals and biocarbon technology — adds Ed Anderson to its board of directors and Jim Bone to its technical advisory board. Anderson brings strong leadership from his experience in founding and growing North Bridge Partners, a Boston-based venture capital firm, while Bone brings four decades of agriculture business and technical expertise.

"These two individuals will apply their deep experience and perspective to advance the commercialization of Cool Planet's unique technology in the soil health and fuels markets," says Howard Janzen, Cool Planet CEO.

Ed Anderson
For the past 30 years, Anderson has provided financing and advised entrepreneurs who are focused on building game-changing companies. Anderson has had the good fortune to be involved as a seed or first round investor and director in some of the communications industry's most successful start-ups. Anderson is a graduate of the University of Denver and Columbia University-School of Business master's program.

"North Bridge was Cool Planet's original investor and has invested in every round of financing," says Janzen, "Ed's deep experience in commercializing new technologies and his demonstrated ability to help guide innovative companies to massive scale will be invaluable to our company as we advance our breakthrough technologies."

Jim Bone
Bringing 48 years of crop protection experience to Cool Planet's technical advisory board, Bone will advise the board of directors and leadership on research, innovation and key market opportunities. Most recently, he led U.S. field development for DuPont Crop Protection, until retiring in 2011. For more than 17 years prior to DuPont, he worked at Griffin, LLC as vice president of research and development and regulatory affairs; there he managed product development and registration of crop products. Bone is a graduate of the Texas A&M University.

"As Cool Planet continues to advance our Cool Terra® engineered biocarbon product for multiple applications benefitting soil health, Jim will be invaluable in shaping the technology," says Randy Tucker, Cool Planet's chief operating officer.

About Cool Terra®
Cool Terra is delivering new solutions for agriculture and water conservation. Cool Terra® acts like a sponge to retain water and nutrients at the root zone, establishing lasting, naturally organic support systems for crops. Cool Terra® also sequesters carbon from the atmosphere, helping to reverse climate change by taking CO2 captured by plants and storing it in the soil underground.
